The title of our exhibition is Consciousness of Construction. This is inspired from the book Poetics of Space by Gaston Bachelard.
Other names that we looked at were
– Daydreams and Reality
– From the Inside Out
– Fusion of Opposites
We felt that the name Consciousness of Construction brought together all our pieces and gave us a common link between all aspects of our practices.
I personally feel that my work takes on this title through the way I have taken into consideration Interiors and how to construct a visually successful one. Not only this I feel my wallpapers are carefully considered especially when I have layered my screen prints to create different forms. I think my work fits well into the theme in a way that I am conscious of my construction.
