For our last unit of the year, Creative Enterprise, we would have to create an exhibition from start to finish. This would mean finding a venue, making the work, setting up the work and having a private view.
Our first session saw us complete a mind map thinking about everything we would need to do. Seeing as though we only had six weeks to complete this brief, time was of the essence, we would need to work quickly, efficiently and as a team.
We had some spare time during our first session so we decided to write to a selection of spaces around Luton and Dunstable that could be possibilities. We have written to Gateway Gallery at Luton Airport, Carnival Arts, The library, Stockwood Discovery Centre, Priory House and Dunstable Conference Centre. We felt that the more we inquired the more change we had of finding a suitable space!
Here is a screen shots of our email.
I received an email back from Luton Airport explaining that their gallery space was currently being used as a promotion/explanation space for the new airport expansion and this would take place over the space of 36 months. However they were very kind in saying that if the space came up they would contact us.
I next received an email from Priory House saying that we were free to visit at any time so I organised the Monday 16th March to coincide with our trip to the Dunstable Conference Centre set up by Penny.
